Web design has certainly chaned since i began in 1995…
With the advent of server side includes such as CGI/Perl scripts, the door
was opened to dynamicly created web pages , now we have a dynamic world wide web.
No more static files, just sitting there anymore,
data bases deliever the content, a style sheet (CSS) determines the layout and design.
It’s all made to order “on the fly” based on the users input.
Several years ago Flash content came into its own and with it dynamic content that was rich with
sound,animation, and special effects, the term “rich content” began to make sense
and appear on even the most basic of sites.
sure we had music and video content ,but that was old school.
Now in todays web design video and sound files are as common as images were in 1995.
Highbandwidth connections sre streaming all of it to us at megabytes a second.
Blogs and web based services are commonplace and information is being put on the web with the speed of
…well almost light ! It’s an exciting time for the web as more and more peole are spreading thier thoughts and
pictures alll over the world wide web. Well it’s a long way from those two hour downloads of a 30 second
video clip over a 14K modem from your Compuserve connection.
